Dawson’s Creek
Digital Experience
I led the creation and management of the complete digital presence for Dawson’s Creek — from the award-winning Dawson’s Desktop to the show’s official website, surrounding in-world sites, and fan community.
Dawson’s Desktop gave fans access to Dawson’s personal computer, where they could browse his journal, school files, CDs, and even his trash bin, while following storylines that continued directly from the desktop into on-air episodes.
To expand the universe, we built a network of companion sites, including:
Pacey’s Class President Campaign Site
Summer Diaries, connecting fans with the characters during off-season breaks
Capenet, Capeside High’s school website
Potter B&B, where fans could “check in” as guests
Freshman Faces, where fans could sign a digital yearbook and join special school communities
Beyond launching these experiences, I also ran the Dawson’s Creek online community — keeping fans engaged on the official site, sustaining the brand after the series ended through its home video and streaming runs, and managing the show’s Facebook community.
This comprehensive strategy created one of the earliest and most enduring interactive TV fan ecosystems, setting the standard for digital engagement and transmedia storytelling.
